2008-05-30 More a Primer than a Bible

If any student is going to rely on this book for an A level pass they will not get a good grade. Neverthelss it is an excellent way to get an overview of a wider period which one can then expand by reading more specialised works many of which are mentioned in the "Further Reading" section.
