2006-11-02 Behind the Scenes
WWho would have thought, aliens not only living on Earth but holding such influential posts across the world. Ok, not quite an original general storyline, but the way this book approaches it is fairly original, with some very weird and wonderful twists. At times you can see what's coming further along in the story, but equally you couldn't guess it now, and the fact you are waiting adds something to the suspense. There is nothing deep and meaningful to be had, but light hearted quirky entertainment with a good few laughs thrown in.
The book starts off slower and serious enough, developing the characters not only in description but in an understanding of what their life means, but the amusing twisted bits are dribbled in slowly enough to keep your attention, by the end there isn't a whole lot of serious stuff left, new characters become a little more surreal and the plot dissolving into a more quick paced action affair.
A good read.
