Thinking Of You - The Ultimate Escapist Read
Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!

Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?

Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

'Most important, her recipes are both inspiring and simple, as
well as completely delicious.'
'her food is delicious, and her recipes are an uncomplicated
treat.'
"Cook" is the exciting new book from up-and-coming chef and food writer Thomasina Miers, winner of BBC 2's "Masterchef 2005". This brand new recipe book shows us exactly why she won. With her natural passion for flavours and ingredients Thomasina offers us an irresistible range of seasonal recipes that reflect her personality and love of all things real, hearty and above all delicious. With no hint of pretension, Thomasina's approach is relaxed and unfussy yet undeniably smart and modern, using locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, and sticking to her firm belief in free-range and organic produce wherever possible. Thomasina's flair and experience lend her food both excitement and conviction. Add to that, her natural understanding of what makes great food and you have a truly winning recipe. The vibrancy, richness and diversity of her recipes comes from her assimilation of ideas and influences from all over the world, from the people and places she has encountered along the way, from London to Mexico. Whether you want starters, lazy brunches, a hearty main of meat, fish or vegetables, or a sumptuous pudding, "Cook" caters for every course.

From moreish bruschettas to roast partridge with mascarpone and thyme, from the perfect BLT to chilli chocolate truffles, Tommi has it covered. If you love incredible flavours and interesting, quality ingredients made into real, easygoing food, then "Cook" is the book you need to feed yourself and your friends.

2006-12-07 Fabulous!

I've never written a review for a cookbook before but felt I had to toss one in for Thomasina Miers. I never heard of her before but after browsing at a bookshop, I decided to purchase the book because of its interesting and different recipes. So far, I've only tried the mojo de ajo sauce and the eggplant with feta recipe and they were superb. I can't wait to try the rest and I hope Thomasina keeps the books coming!
