2007-01-11 Full of useful hints - although better suited for American Pilots
On the whole the book is accessible on many different levels, and because it covers a large range of topics there is something to learn from it whoever you are. I would recommend this book to anyone who has just achieved their PPL as you do find that having got your license you're left in the open somewhat, without anyone to guide you through. However, having been written from the perspective of a pilot in the USA, certain sections are just not applicable, and certain advice doesn't really apply in the UK. For example, There is a whole chapter on Class B airspace which as yet doesn't exist in the UK, and there is a lot of details about the FAA and local procedures, including slightly different terminology.Having said that, it's a good back to compliment the PPL syllabus but see if you can pick it up cheap second hand.
