Thinking Of You - The Ultimate Escapist Read
Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!

Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?

Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2008-07-27 Great book on classical mechanics.

I must agree about the fact that in the book there is not much transition form basic physics that 14-15 year olds would do in school to more advanced concepts of mechanics. Another point is that edition after edition they haven't changed a word. For example in the chapter on friction I believe they should have changed their comments on the nature of frictional forces since their edition in 1977 to now as there has been a whole branch (Tribology) of science researching the area. But they haven't.

However, this is still one of the best books (the best)I have seen if you want to learn mechanics on your own. The main idea behind this textbook, in my opinion, has been to give solid fouidnations on which to build your solving techniques on. So it is not straight forward to learn from this book since you will get confused easily as you need to learn how to choose what to apply. For that reaon, this book is perfect fo those who want to truly understand mechanics and not just solve problems. Moreover, you need the very basics of differential and vector calculus, scalar and vector products, vector geometry, calculus and maybe double integrals if you want to calculate first and second moments in the plane using double integration. Like one of the other reviewers comments, well illustrated and wonderfully explained.
