Brian Jacques has proved time and time again that he has the ability to grab his readers by the throat and transport them into a world of fantasy and adventure that many writers of adult books would love to emulate. The Long Patrol, A Tale of Redwall, certainly proves the point yet again, but distinguishes itself by being perhaps the very best of all the Redwall books so far. Relying less and less on the old, familiar Redwall characters and more and more on the ingenuity and passion of younger blood, The Long Patrol will certainly win Jacques a fresh following while continuing to delight his existing army of fans. 2003-02-20 The Long Patrol

The book I am reviewing is called The Long Patrol. It is about the fighting hares that serve Lady Cregga rose eyes ruler of Salamandastron.
The main characters would be the courageous young hare Tammo who wants to join the long patrol, Dammug Warfang firstblade of all Rapscallians. (Killed by Cregga rose eyes.)
The Rapscallians try to take over the abbey of Reddwall.The warriors from the abbey and Salamandastron join together and defeat the Rapscallians.
I enjoyed this book because it was full of adventure and war.
My favourite character was Arven the Abbey warrior holding the sword of Martin the warrior.
I don?t think there are any bad points. I would give it 9-10.
