2007-03-08 Murder in the Stocks
Unusually for Georgette Heyer, this mystery isn't set in the country but in London, chiefly at the flat of the distinctly unusual Verekers. They are surprisingly matter of fact about the murder of their rich relative, and neither their fiancés nor the police know what to make of either of them. Luckily for the sorely-tried Superintendent Hannasyde, the levelled-headed Giles Carrington is willing to help him out. I failed to guess this one, and felt a bit of an idiot when the solution was revealed. Enjoyable.similar books
