I've returned to V to so I can give a copy to an American friend who has never heard of Pynchon. Forty four years ago, I was introduced to Thomas Pynchon's V by a fellow Sandhurst cadet. I read it rapidly, becoming and even remaining, hugely exhilarated by its sweep and epic scale. V should be compulsory reading for all sixth form English Literature, History and Geography students.
