2008-07-05 Girls adventure story with an Enid Blyton feel to it
This was a book with a very simple construction (you knew who the baddies were and you knew who the goodies were) and the story followed the battle of good against evil all the way through. It very much had the feel of a good old fashioned adventure story that a child could read (with a few grown up bits added in!!).
It was let down by a few major coincidences and chance happens which I thought let the book down as I felt that they made it quite unbelieveable.
The book was too long and could have comfortably been 200 pages shorter but had lots going on and was a reasonable enjoyable read.
Despite it's length I would recommend this book to an infrequent reader who wanted an easy read.
