2008-08-16 A good, solid read
The Chimera's Curse: The Companions Quartet: Bk. 4 (Companions Quartet)It is a shame that this series has never received the attention from the literary world that it deserves. Very few people seem to know of it. While it may not be as long and as massively epic as some young people's fantasy these days, they make for digestible reads and leave the reader feeling satisfied. While the overall conclusion of the series was inevitably one of triumph, as fantasy novels almost always are, I didn't expect the manner in which it was concluded and it leaves me wishing Golding would write more books just so we could read more about a certain character and their later exploits (I don't want to give away TOO much). It seems that Golding's stumbled upon a world that she could grow much bigger if she wanted to.
