A fascinating glimpse into the subculture of hobbyists and tinkerers who devote astonishing amounts of time, money and ingenuity to making machines, weaponry and all manners of gizmos that whoosh, rumble, fly and splat.
A journey into world of underground technology enthusiasts introduces the amateur inventors, science fanatics, and technophiles dedicated to creating a variety of unusual machines, with little regard for profit or their own physical well-being.
2006-03-25 Interesting but...
The book provides an intersting insight into the people of the title. It is much less useful as a technology guide -Gurstelle's own "Backyard Ballistics" is a much better title in this respect.Fine for a light read, less useful if you are considering making anything.
