This book is sold as a book about forensic science - it's only when you get it that you find out that it's a work of fiction.

If you just want a murder story, read this; if you're interested in real forensic science, read Keith Simpson's book 'Forty Years of Murder" - it's well-written, is entertaining, and gives real accounts of true stories.
