2008-03-22 I COULDN`T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN !

I sat down and started to read this book at lunchtime,and by ten pm i had finished it,having put it down briefly twice. It certainly measures up to the first book-behind closed doors-which comes as a surprise, as second books are usually boring. This book had my eyes filled up on page two ! I really,really,enjoyed it-it is an absolute page turner. However, i have 2 gripes. The first one is - why on god`s earth did jenny allow keith`s unbelievable abuse to go on for so long ? Every time he re-appeared,you found yourself thinking oh my God, not again,she really can`t be that stupid ! My second gripe is - i was rather disturbed at the way both these women sauntered off - leaving their children - to make new lives for themselves - after they had both promised with all their heart and soul that they would make sure their kids never knew unhappiness, after what they themselves had been through.
HOWEVER,this truly is a story well worth telling, and well worth reading. Although it will haunt you for a long time after reading it - strangely, it leaves you with a smile on your face !
If you haven`t read `behind closed doors` then i strongly recommend that you do - and then follow it up with this one.
This is definately on my list of `best books i have ever read` - along with `behind closed doors.`
