When I'm up North, I fib and tell folks THE ONLY GOOD YANKEEis a baseball book--just so they won't give me a hard time about the title. Actually, it's probably the most "traditional" of my mysteries, with a puzzle of a plot. It also features a romantic triangle from hell, a semi-mad bomber (who considers mailboxes a tempting target), a murder with barbed wire, and potshots at environmentalists AND developers both. If you like your mysteries with all that and a bit of attitude, I hope you'll give THE ONLY GOOD YANKEE a try.

Disappointed with this.Weak story,weak characters,with little suspense,set in an imaginary small town in the southwestern U.S.A,where everyone in the whole town seems to have bizarre ante-bellum names.I don't know if the author is trying to poke fun at the people ,but given the story has more air in it than a souffle,he should drop it.
