Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2005-03-15 A great midway book for children learning to read
This book is a a brilliant midway point for children who are learning to read! The full colour pictures illustrate the story in a brilliant visual way. While there are enough words to stretch childrens reading.
I have struggled to find books for my daughter to read. She loves the pictures but gets bored by the 2 lines of text a page of a lot of picture books, but she is not yet ready for paberback books with more text but only black and whine line drawn illustrations.
This book is a perfect stepping stone in learning to read!
The only disadvantage this book has for young readers is that most of them will have seen 'the little mermaid, Ariel'. However in this book the name Ariel refers to a male - the 'baddie' of the story - a flying pixie. My daughter found this quite confusing to begin with.
Spirulina and the stolen treasure is a cleverly written story that follows a young mermaid who longs for adventure. When her fathers treasure is stolen she sets out to find it with the help of an albatross.
There is enough detail in this story to keep children well involved without being too long.
I would highly recomend it!!!!!
