Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2004-07-20 MYTH-Spent money
I first discovered Robert Asprin way back when on a holiday to the states. When I got back, I flew through a thunderstorm on a 35 seater plane. I was laughing so hard the stewardess thought I was hysterical (everyone else on plane was praying). When I landed, I grabbed as many of his books as I could. Made it to Sweet Mythtery of Life and couldnt find any UK stockists (pre internet connection) so stopped buying. Then I discovered he had written more, and bought the lot.
What a disappointment. I don't know whether my humour has changed that much, but the writing style definitely has, and this book just wasnt funny. Worse, it was a collection of short stories with zero character development. In fact, the stories were set in a previous timeframe, and the characters had abilities not used in the mainstream storyline.
Quite frankly, with all due respect to a writers abilities, this was a waste of money and has put me off buying any further MYTH books.
