2007-06-10 Invaluable resource

I found this book informative and descriptive it gives a true insight into electrotherapy with indications, precautions and contra-indications, which are invaluable to the new student with limited knowledge and practical application skills. During preparation for the end of 1st year vivas it became an invaluable source of reference as it helped to explore other methods of treatment when dealing with muscle and ligament injuries and how they can coincide with exercise prescription in the management of injuries. The end of section summaries that deal with the effectiveness of each treatment, are a fantastic bonus and allow the reader to further their insight into the application and use of each treatment modality. By giving a brief account of the studies that exist in each area of electrotherapy, which can then be looked up independently as the authors and dates are given. I feel that this helps to build effective practice and encourages the reader to further their knowledge. The book overall is well set out and will be well read throughout placements in my 2nd year.
