Because I'm in the same industry I was I admit curious. I'd already read Air Babylon and think it was a stroke of genious. Hilarious and worrying all rolled into one! Hotel Babylon was however, I have to admit a bit of a disappointment. Without a shadow of a doubt, the general public behave so diabolically in this environment I really expected a story that would far exceed the behaviour of the general public in the air! I think it was noteable that the author is 'guided' by a person in the industry who was simply recalling 'bits and pieces' off the 'top of their head' - had the author had the inside experience (and therefore made a few notes over a period of time), I can't help but feel certain the book would have contained a far more in depth story of the inside truth of the hotel business - from both aspects - visitors and staff behaviour. I enjoyed it - it was 'easy reading' and it was certainly easy to identify with certain parts of it, but I know most of us in the trade could tell a story or two (and the rest) to blow this story well out of the water!similar books
