2007-10-27 Growing up with Elisabeth and Jessica

Having turned to "College Girls" over ten years after the first time I read the book in my early teens, I found it even better than the first time I read it. I have been reading the Sweet Valley series ever since I was introduced to the books in the early nineties in Hong Kong. Nearly fifteen years later, having shared the hopes, disappointments and dreams of young maturing girls, I feels as if they have become close friends and confidantes. Over the whole world girls read these books and I firmly believe that I am not the only one who feels as if I have grown up with the Sweet Valley gang.

Reading "College Girls" reminded me of this. I cannot imagine any other books providing me with such a refuge from my own everyday life. Thank you, Francine Pascal!
