Eve: The Empyrean Age (Gollancz S.F.)

Read this book a couple of months ago, and then leant it to my brother, who like me, has been reading science fiction since the days of Isaac Asimov and Arthur C Clarke.. (I'm 50 yrs he's 60...) The book I have to say read much better than I had first imagined, and after an initial thirty five page read, I picked it up again the next day and in a marathon burst, read the rest of it in one go, overnight.

Every turn of the page opened up a new door, this book is for any Science fiction fan, a refreshing read, it's just not that often that a book this well written comes along. We - (Both me and my brother..) have thoroughly enjoyed the read, we usually (One of us..) buy a book and share it after being read.

This book got a nine or nine and a half out of ten from us both both for content and originality..

For instance there is one character in the book called "The Broker..", The Broker can clone himself repeatedly to achieve his various business aims and power manipulation within the plot.

This guy can have similar copies of himself in different looking bodies, (Usually impersonating someone he's murdered..) performing different roles, but all with the same ultimate objective at once. Further these copies willingly commit selfless suicide at the end of their usefulness to protect the Broker's true Identity, as they know they "Live on.." in other instances. - Great Idea, just the kind of stuff that Science Fiction has been missing for a long time.

From Nano Bots, to Warp Drives and beyond, this book mixes the best and worst of great yarns, brave men and reluctant heroes, with ordinary souls and pure evil bad guys all coalesce to produce something that makes a reader anticipate every page turn with sheer bliss.

If you love Sci-Fi there's a 99 percent chance that Mr Gonzales will have (Like he has for me..) produced something that has you looking for his name on future books.
