Since they were first published thirty years ago, the Classic Books-with-Holes have become known and loved world-wide, with sales into the millions. This special board book edition shares the charm and fascination of the originals and is suitable for the smallest hands.
Ingenious die-cut holes bring much-loved nursery rhymes to life, and Pam Adams's illustrations lend humour and vibrancy to the proceedings.
In this version of the traditional rhyme the reader sees what happens in the old lady's stomach through an ever-expanding die-cut hole.
"There was an old lady that swallowed a spider, that wriggled and wriggled and jiggled inside her. She swallowed the spider to catch the fly. I don't know why she swallowed a fly. Perhaps she'll die."
2008-07-31 Brings back childhood memories
I love this book! I remember it from when I was a kid, (more than 30 years ago!) I have been searching for it for ages for my 3 year old son who loves books, and he loves it too. Not sure if it has changed over the years, but it's very much the same as I remember it to be.similar books
