Lupus affects 500,000 individuals, of whom 90 per cent are women. It is a chronic auto-immune disease, often considered a medical mystery. This book clarifies the nature of the disease, lists the tests required for its diagnosis, and the risks and benefits of treatment.
2000-11-17 Very useful lupus information for the female patient
This book lacks some of the medical detail of some of the other lupus books available. Its real advantage is acknowledging that the usually young and female lupus patient my have special problems, anxieties and queries that the rheumatologist may not be able to answer or that you may not want to discuss. This book has useful tips (including information on fake tans and grooming!)as well as the usual information, it is less good than some other books on the most recent treatmentssimilar books
