2001-05-16 Is this book really about Harrison Ford?

A biography of Harrison Ford that fails to give any insight into the man. Oh, the book is certainly interesting and you will probably find yourself enjoying it but then you will stop and think "Hang on! What have I learnt about Harrison Ford?" The answer is "Not much". The author, it seems, has never talked (probably even met) Harrison Ford and Ford's words are taken from various magazines (there isn;t even a bibliography!) The book is actually more about Ford's films than Ford himself. The author goes into excited descriptions of the films, racing off at a tangent to write a critical of the films. You'll find yourself reading the "reviews" with interest and either agreeing or disagreeing with his views but eventually it will start to annoy that you have read 20pages and not a word on Harrison Ford.
