2001-04-26 good looking and in-depth

My first impression when picking up this book was the wonderful array of stunning photographs. However the book is much more than a pretty 'coffee table read'. It has a brief account of the history of the herbacious border as we know it. Then continues with very interesting in-depth accounts of various actual borders, their styles, influances and how they are practically achieved. It also contains a great deal of advice for anyone interested in creating their own border/s, all presented with these magnificent photographs. I found it inspiring!
