2008-10-03 Loved it

I really loved this novel. So much so, that it was with sadness that I came to the end of it. Unlike his first novel Best Manhere we have, to my mind, a character that one can root for. Saying that, Edward isn't perfect. In fact the Edward we encounter at the beginning of the novel is a bit of a wuss. And, his 'best friend ', Dan, well with friends like that, who needs enemies. I found it hard to believe that they could really be best friends, particularly the way Dan spoke to Edward throughout the book. Yet I still liked this novel. I laughed out loud on numerous occasions, and begun rooting for him, despite his friend Dan. It also has a lot to say about male/female relationships, which although I didn't agree with everything that I read, it did give me food for thought. Any fans of Mike Gayle's novel will love this On the strength of this, I have purchased Ex-Girlfriends Unitedwhich is a continuation of this story.
