"An intelligent and accomplished storyteller"
"DeMille's narrative energy is unflagging"
"A marvellous contemporary writer"
"Fascinating, frightening, and furiously paced...a story of almost unrelenting suspense"
Twelve miles above the Pacific Ocean, a missile strikes the Trans Flight 52, a supersonic passenger jet bound for Japan. The flight crew is crippled or dead. Now, defying both nature and man, three survivors must achieve the impossible. Land the plane. From master story-teller Nelson DeMille and master pilot Thomas Block comes MAYDAY - the classic American bestseller that packs a supersonic shock with every turn of the page, the most terrifyingly realistic air disaster thriller you will ever read.

Now, revised and updated, it is being re-published to coincide with a telefilm adaptation from Neufeld/Rehme Productions. Nelson DeMille has written eight other novels and lives on Long Island, New York.

2007-06-27 One of the best books ever!!

After reading the da vinci code i thought that, that book would never be token off my list at number 1. But after reading this, Mayday is 5x as much more intresting to read than any other book. The story is very accruate thanks to a master piliot (Thomas Block) and the storyline has twists and turns that will make you want to read the last page, just to see if they make it or not!

I would seriously reccommend this to anyone who reads books!
