2007-02-21 Brittany previsited!
This is a very engaging book: the pace and plot don't falter, and the research and detail are very impressive. It is an excellent adventure story with good characterisations. Knowing the area around Chateauneuf du Faou very well, and having visited the Chateau at Trevarez many times (watching the gradual repair of the bomb damage over the years) it was a treat to "enjoy the scenery" as well. The only really odd note was Count Jules offering a "local wine" to his guests: what on earth could that have been? Please take me to a vineyard in Brittany!(But it might be wiser to stick to their local beverages).similar books
