2008-09-07 'Great Nostalgia But No Colour Pics'

Speaking as someone that grew up with Spedeworth motor racing (my dad took me as a baby almost!) I was really looking forward to getting this book. While it is fair to say that I have not been disappointed, I cannot help wishing that the book had contained at least a few COLOUR photographs. Apart from the cover pic, there is not one colour plate in the rest of this book and, while this maybe understandable considering the age of some of the photo's, this can not be said of the later 70's shots. A good smattering of your Hot Rod favourites are covered including of course the legendary twosome of 351 Barry Lee and 306 George Polley. There are also some shots of the long defunkt, but sadly missed 'Cross In Hand' circuit and the narrative has quite obviously been written by an enthusiast. So, lots to recommend this then, but such a shame the publishing budget was so small.
