Thinking Of You - The Ultimate Escapist Read
Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!

Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?

Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2008-07-30 Beautiful illustrations and text

I picked up this book in a car boot sale and I adore it - the images in it are absolutely beautiful and for a children's book, it's very informative.

Janni Howker has done a wonderful job here; it's amazing how she has used so few words but has woven a beautiful children's book. Each page is illustrated with a painting of the actions shown in the text. There is no story to speak of, but each page describes a different aspect of life for wolves and the italics indicate facts about wolves. I think it really captures the spirit of the wolves through a perfect medley of stunning paintings, factual information, and the text that comprises the main body of the text.

I think that it's a lovely book; it's so simple it will keep a child's attention but it will still help to give a positive view of wolves and helps kids learn more about these beautiful animals. Even for me, I found this a charming read and I would definitely recommend it, especially to people with an interest in giving a positive view of wolves to their children.
