2005-11-06 A low point of creativity
The book Cage, is abysmal by my own opinion. The reason for this is because Luke Cage surfaced in the 70s by Marvel and went by the name PowerMan, since then Luke has given up his former alias and has come to NYC to play criminals and dirty cops against each other, the character has been destroyed by a white author (Brian Azzarello) who has watched too many black orientated "gangsta" movies and portrays Cage in this stereotypical form, PowerMan used to be leading an example now he is just a thug with superpowers. The art is horrible due to bad detail and lazy drawings which took 8 minutes to do all of it. Cage is a part of the Max comics line from Marvel which deal with a lot of explicit content, it appears that Brian (Azzarello) is just having characters swear every single page and the script is pointless it strays off by the second issue, Cage is payed to bring a gang to justice after a girl is killed in a shoot out, but he continues to do what he wishes and keep the money. Now the Max Lines have released some good few comics including Supreme Power, Thor: Vikings and The punisher, but Cage is not one of these good few it.Cage is one of those books to get if you actually collect all the Max Comics from Marvel otherwise this is a waste of money. Utterly disappointing it wasn't even successful before it was turned into a graphic novel, if you wish to find out about Luke Cage/PowerMan and collect comics and graphic novels on him, just pretend that this one doesn't exist. Also note that this book isn't for children either.
