Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2003-11-09 an excellent book but not the best in the series
The fifth volume of the Incredible Hulk is a great read, but not of the same overall quality as the previous volumes. Bruce Jones' script is easily as good as previous offerings- providing the now expected well-defined characterizations and believable psychology, along with clear, insightful dialogue and a well thought out plot. The storyline is well conceived, as always, and involves both directly and indirectly the Absorbing Man and his psycopathic personality. The presentation is, again, that of a horror story and suits this plot and characters perfectly: as a movie some of this story line would be pretty grim stuff. The only real let down in the graphic novel is the artwork, both on reproduced covers and interiors: the book cover itself is excellent- one or two of the reproduced covers inside are quite good but no where near as evocative as those in previous volumes. The illustrations by Leandro Fernandez appear adequate at first glance, but not very evocative. Read in conjunction with the story their quality is vastly better, in particular some of the Absorbing Man's grotesque transformations, but on the whole the atmospheric use of light and shade by artists in previous volumes isn't there, albeit in a limited form. The use of colour is a little too garish: gone are the subtle pastel tones of the previous volumes and in are some reasonably basic primaries and secondaries. Again this is adequate but doesn't enhance the story atmosphere particularly. The art certainly isn't bad, but really doesn't match the dark atmosphere of the prior books. That said it is nice to see so many regular changes of artist in a book: providing a lot of variety.
Overall this book is worth buying and reading, although at present it doesn't appear to contribute much to the huge `clandestine organization' story arc that has dominated the series so far. An enjoyable and grim, imaginitive tale let down by more traditional artwork than has been seen so far in the series, well worth a look though.
