2007-05-13 A Different Kind Of Coffee Table Book!

I first knew of this book when it was first released but I only just got round to buying it and I have to admit it is ten times better than I had imaged. It is so much more than just a set of photos of porn stars! The book contains two photos of some of the most prolific porn stars, both in a stark contrast to each other, one photo is clothed and one is totally nude, this somehow manages to be very powerful. Seeing the likes of Heather Hunter in a floral dress and Lukas Ridgeson in a Gap sweater really just shows a normal and human side to these people that many idolise and fantasize about. The book also contains some incredibly interesting interviews with some leading porn stars and producers, and some great articles about the impact of porn on the modern world.

This review runs the risk of sounding pretencious, but I thought it would be a cool book to own as the photographs are beautifully taken and the subject matter is something a little unusual, but it is a world away from what I expected, I would say its one of the best coffee table books I have, and boy, I have a lot!
