2008-09-06 Great book for beginning Fingerstyle Blues

This book is superb, in 9 months I have gone from a strummer into a picker and it has opened up a whole new world in my musical understanding and repertoire. It has lots of basic exercises which are so important in building your skills and at the end you to will be able play 5 fantastic blues pieces. The teaching method is interesting and inspiring and at no point did I get bored or tired and trust me I do. The authors have clearly studied the great bluesman and give you hints that you must do the same and most importantly listen to them and yourself. I cannot rate this book enough for the level I am at I have now gone on to study individual Bluesmen like Rev Gary Davis, Mance Lipscomb, Big Bill Broonzy and Furry Lewis who are masters of the basic techniques taught in this book. Get this book work from it and keep an open mind just as the Bluesman did all those years ago.
