A extremely funny and colourful journey through the life of TV Zoo Vet Matt Brash. The book is a mixture of tales and autobiographical memories of his life and work with some wierd and wonderful animals and televison types! Publication coincides with the screening of the fifth series of Zoo Vet at Large on ITV Yorkshire.
Matt Brash is the latest television celebrity to turn author. This handsome vet is the star of the ITV Yorkshire television series, "Zoo Vet at Large". Matt's first book is mixture of tales and autobiographical memories of his work, both at Flamingo Land Zoo and in general practice. Matt describes how he got into filming for ITV, and the relationships he has forged with both the camera and the people behind the camera."Good day in the office, dear?" is a particularly loaded question when asked of Matt Brash. A typical 'day in the office' could include escaping from angry, disorientated bears, dodging poo hurled by obstinate, grumpy chimpanzees and avoiding massive loss of blood at the hands (well, teeth) of vindictive hamsters. Lives and limbs, animals' and Matt's, are always at risk. This is an enlightening and colourful journey through Matt's life and work with weird and wonderful exotic wild animals, from tarantulas to tapirs, birds to bears, and madams to motorbikers.
Matt Brash is not only a busy practice vet but is also the star of Zoo Vet at Large on ITV, based on his work at Flamingo Land Zoo. He lives in the Yorkshire Wolds with his wife Clare and four sons. Zoo Vet is his first book
2007-09-18 Animal antics galore
It's great to see so many animal-orientated books around at the moment and many of them very humorous. Zoo Vet is a fun read and has been added to my collection of books written by vets, the favourite of which to-date, is Pets in Prospect by Malcolm Welshman. I just wonder how these vets find time to write books in their busy lifes. But I'm certainly pleased they do as as their insights into their world of animals are fascinating.similar books
