A fine collection of tales loaded with multicultural stories from around the world concerning fairies, fabulously illustrated by Henry Ford (any colour) guaranteed to keep the kids interested, all for a very reasonable price. What more do you want?

One of a set of colour coded fairy story collections. This book is aimed at nine to twelve year olds so not really the kind of age when they still believe in stuff like that but not too old that they won't be interested in books of this nature and old enough to read them for themselves and keep out of your hair.

I read a few of the stories myself and found them to be easy going and entertaining. They provide a good introduction to self-reading as well as an indication of lifestyles in other cultures and at different times in history.

My kids found them highly engaging and the subject matter leads onto an enthusiasm for more mature literature of a magical nature. In the days of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings you might find this volume to be an indispensable addition to their growing bookshelf. It also provides a good foundation for the appreciation of Magical Realism which so many of us enjoy as adults.
