2005-01-18 OK, but not a miracle solution!
I got this book free in a magazine and I wasn't that interested in it, but I gave it a glance. ( It sounded like those 2 minutes a day plans for firm abs!) Basically, the first few pages are all about the authors (Jorge Cruise) story about how he grew up in a home where eating too much was OK and how he never exercised as a child. When his dad got prostate cancer, Jorge and his dad enrolled in a "detox" style camp in San Diego where you cleanse your body, eat healithy and exercise.The book has a 28 day plan of 8 minutes of exercising in the morning. At first I thought "Yeah, I'll really lose weight with 8 minutes of exercsing". Frankly, if you want a really toned and firm body while losing weight, you'll have to do a lot more than 8 measly minutes in the morning! I started the plan for a week and then I decided that an hour of Jorge's exercises in the afternoon would be more effective. But the book was a really great starting point!!
The book also has a diet plan. The plan says " Eat Fat to get Fit!". Now, I'm no doctor and I haven't tried Atkins, SlimFast, WeightWatchers or anything else, but I decided that undergoing this diet was a little risky. It also talks a lot about oils and how some carbs are bad, some are good. There are also some snack ideas and some meal cards, which are a little complex.
This book is packed full of great exercises, but you really have got to be creative. 8 Minutes in the Morning. C'Mon, that really isn't going to give you a supermodel body!
