Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2002-02-05 It's suitability as an undergraduate text is very good.
Continuing in the success of the "Lecture notes in..." series, this text provides a good basis in both pre-clinical and clinical study, especially the foormat of PBL (Problem Based Learning) adopted by a growing number of UK Medical Schools.Although a combination book, it is split into the two original composite texts inside, the first half dedicated to Obstetrics and the latter half, Gynaecology. This helps the reader differentiate into the two sub-specialties, although the text uses cross references where appropriate.
Key facts/points are well marked, assisting in the retention of knowledge, while adequate, appropriate tables are also used.
As a text for all levels (including Junior doctors)this book always works from first principles, and helps the reader integrate the underlying clinical science (including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, immunology and biochemistry).
Compared to the other popular Obs and Gynae texts on the market, this one has the advantage of its comparably cheap price and combination approach, ensuring that basic principles are underlined just the once.
