2007-05-24 Original and imaginative.
This is rather a good one of the Five Find-Outers Series. For once it looks as if Mr Goon is one step ahead. There is plenty of action, and wishing to avoid spoilers, is rather different from most of the others. This series is rather different from Ms Blyton's other series as what initially seems to start out as designed for rather young children seems to mature as the children in the books grow older. Fatty's relationship with Bets is interesting and I was left wondering if some day would terminate in marriage! Brother Pip, is rather a stern boy with a jealous nature, and Larry and Daisy seem to be there just to swell the numbers. As in all of the Blyton books there is the inevitable dog who will insist on attacking Goon's ankles. Not a good example to set nowadays but apparently it was smiled upon at the time the books were written.
All in all it is a series worth reading and children will love it.
