2005-10-31 Excellent book for adults too!
This is a lovely story set in another world/time about one of two brothers. Luka has a special gift, despite his lack of sight. Only Luka can hear the call of the Cloud Cat. And he has to follow it, even when it leads him straight towards danger, old magic and the Bone Cracker. He plucks up the courage to let his gift lead him away from home, to a more dangerous place...but could he fall out of our world and into another? His brother Jez worries about losing his brother - they've already lost their parents and he doesn't want to see Luka slip away too. I found this book beautifully written with lots of imagination - ideal for slightly older readers and for adults too. Also, there is going to be a sequel to the story, so I'll look forward to that!If you enjoyed His Dark Materials and the Wind Singer books I would say you'd enjoy this too.
