2008-09-13 One of my desert island choices!

I can only reiterate the positive comments of the other 7 reviewers. If I had five books to take with me to a desert island where I was to be abandoned, this would be one of them. It is packed full of information (with wonderful photos and illustrations) about the evolution of our universe and its constituent parts. At night on my desert island, I could then use the last part of the book 'The Night Sky' for guiding me in my observations of the heavens. If you want to look at the 'Big Picture' then this book is a great guide, reminding us of the shear vastness and wonders of the known universe.
