Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2008-10-30 Better than expected
As an avid fan of David Weber I have yet to read a really bad book associated with him. For some time I had ignored this book after reading the reviews here. However, bored, needing something to read I picked this up and it then sat on my shelf for some time as newer more interesting books kept coming through and getting read first. However I have now read it, enjoyed it thoroughly and went through all 1200 pages in 3 days whilst on holiday. I won't go into the plot as others have done that to death, however the progression of mistakes leading to the tragedy behind the novel is believable and I found myself wanting to know what happes next. Hence now waiting for the sequel to arrive through the post next week.
Clearly the work is largely that of the co-author Linda Evans and this gives a different style than that usually associated with Weber, largely seen in a lot more detail regarding the characters and locations, this is a refreshing change. Looking forward to finding out what happens to my favourite characters next
Recommended, but try the sample sections from the Baen website if in doubt first.
