2006-08-07 Slightly weird and disappointing.

It was mildly whitty. However, I have to say that I did not like this book much until the character of Gabriel comes into it about half way through. Then the plot speeds up and makes more sense. However, it did not make much sense to me that all the inhabitants of King's Island, who are desparate for investment into the island, should just meekly go along with and turn a blind eye to a scheme hatched up by three crooked islanders. Who were the twins, this was not explained? I also did not like the character of RJ. As one of the four leading characters, he was not very attractive i.e. sympathetically portrayed. Not one of Deveraux's best!
