2008-03-22 For today's women

The first time I read this book I didn't think much of it and even disagreed with some areas discussed by the author. However, as I read more into the book and reflected on my own relationship, it really helped me understand why it is so important to surrender and what it means to be a surrender woman. I think this book is for today's women - most of us have been educated, and many have their own careers, are independent and very capable. The traditional roles of a husband and wife have long been replaced and part of being an independent woman I think makes us fear of losing control or worry that our partners can't do a good job or meet our expectations.

Before reading this book, I have had power struggles in my relationship with my partner because we are both very independent and have strong personalities. It resulted in several unhappy situations and I end up worrying all the time. Now I feel much happier and carefree. This book has not only taught me to stop being a control freak/worry freak, but more importantly, to completely trust the man I marry, and to enjoy being the woman in the relationship. I have really enjoyed this book and I believe it is slowing brining us closer together in love and in trust.
