Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2007-01-05 'She did it the Hard Way'? You Bet
The Girl who walked home alone is a must read for any Bette Davis Fan. I turned the pages quicker than Bette could chain smoke her way through 40 ciggies. The thing about it is the fact that it does not dwell on periods of her life but gives you a quick synopsis of the movies she made and what was happening in her life and what she thought of the movie in question. The best thing is that it Bette's own words. The author makes you belive that you are there in the apartment while she was speaking to Bette. Bette worked in a male dominated industry where going against the grain meant she was often suspended and once taken to court, however she came out on top and made some truly remarkable movie classics. Read the book and devour Bette's thoughts in words. Truly better than the Lonely Life and This N That.similar books
