2008-03-05 Could not put it down

This is the second JM I have read - Kingdom of Dreams being the first and the one that got me hooked. Was Whitney as good - definitely.
I don't know what it is about JM's books, but she somehow seems to know exactly what I want from a historical romance. There is enough history to put me into the era, she has the ability to describe characters so I feel as if I know them, her stories - with all the twists and intrigue keep me guessing and then there's the romance with just enough passion and in-sight into the sex to keep it all wrapped up cosily under the romance banner and not under the porn banner.
The story has been outlined a number of times through previous reviews so I wont bother to repeat, but I do highly, highly recommend this book - it is a 'pick up - cant put down book' so make sure you have a few spare hours and don't have to get up early the next morning for work because you will definitely have the 'red eye'
