Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2008-05-28 Islamofacism Alive And Well
This story is told within the context of the century commencing in the early years of the current one and ending in the first decade of the next. It is based on the premise that the spread of Islam will continue to expand as it has done since the second World war. Where the population of the indigenous peoples of Europe are shrinking and ageing owing to their unwillingness to have, on average, more than a single child per mother; the shortfall being counteracted by the average of four children being produced by their Moslem counterparts this exacerbated by the polygamypractised by Moslems but denied to others as punishable by imprisonment. This eventually leads to a tipping point where most European countries are inhabited by more followers of the mass murderer, Mohammed than by any other religious group. Before that point is reached, however, political correctness; the intimidation of people worried about their loss of liberties, by the extreme left; and the general appeasement of the ever-demanding Imams by governments afraid of the abuse forthcoming if they do not succumb. This eventually leads to the formation of a pan-European Caliphate where Islamic law prevails; atheists are killed together with gays and any others who don't fit in the mould determined by the Koran. Peoples of other religions are tolerated but have to pay a religious tax to survive, failure to do so results in their children being taken into slavery as payment. Against this background, the story evolves around a brother and sister thus taken and how they develop separately and eventually meet again in a castle in Germany. This castle is being used to develop biological warfare weapons which could wipe out the remaining (mainly American) opposition to the Caliphate. Good story line and excellent vehicle in which to show how bad things are becoming in Europe and our unlikely ability to control it.
