I can understand why people are giving this book (and Cell before it) a bad review. But that's only because the majority of people are not open enough and are quite ignorant.Yes, this is a different story to what we're use to from King and it's nothing like his earlier stuff. But what would you expect. Time changes people and we should REALLY be a bit more accepting. As he grows older he is likely to write about things which effect him. Never did Stephen King write FOR the reader, he is writing for himself. In an interview in 2003 he said he was quitting the world of publishing, but not writing. Obviously he changed his mind about the publishing bit, but this just shows that he was willign to write NOT for the reader, but for himself. If you read this book, looking at it from an oblique angle, keeping in mind the changes the writer has faced throughout the years, this is a great book!
