My daughter loves the Spiderwick series, and although this is a spin off, rather like a beastiary, so no continuation of the story, it is still a worthy addition to the books. The books are based on the Fieldguide of Arthur Spiderwick, a man who saw fairies and sprites and captured their images and his impressions in a book. The books follow three children who find out about his world and get embroiled in a series of adventures. Low on text and heavy on illustration they are bite sized adventures which are perfect for those children transitioning from picture books to more adult fiction. This book is beautifully drawn and the quality of production is high. The pull out poster is lovely and worth framing, and the book is quirky and compelling. It is rather expensive compared to the rest of the books, but this is probably down to the detail and care of production.similar books
