"to dance" is really a book about having a love of something, in this case dancing, and then pursuing it. It's about growing up and doing what you love to do in spite of everything else that happens in life. It's about the kind of pursuit that comes from inside a person that cannot be stopped, no matter what! The writing and the accompanying illustrations work together beautifully - one is drawn into the world of dancing! Having never danced, nor been interested in graphic novels before, I can highly recommend reading this book, so beautifully written and illustrated - it's a pure delight to spend time with. A rare book for young and old readers alike.
