2006-08-07 A fantastic book by a fantastic author.
Fathers and Sons is about the relationship between Miyamoto Usagi (the protagonist) and Jotaro, his secret son. It shows their turmoil because they both know that they are father and son but hide the fact from one another due to their life styles. The first story in this collection is about Usagi finding Jotaro who went missing in book 18 (Travels with Jotaro) and one thing leads to another and they have to help out the Lone Goat and Kid from bounty hunters who want the bounty placed on their heads. There's also a story about Katsuchi-Sensai (one of my favourite characters in the Usagi Yojimbo universe) and his lover that leads to a very sad and quite shocking, conclusion. This book is very immersive and is quite emotional and to tell you all about it would spoil it for you. The ending to the collection is brilliant and shows you a brief glimpse of what it is like to uphold honour and loyalty for the way of the Samurai. A great book.similar books
